It’s important for teammates to bond together in order to get success. It’s important for teammates to know and understand each other. Team building between individuals means improved group performance. Teams that understand the weak points of each member are better prepared to adapt to changing game situations. Bonding games encourage goal-setting, communication, problem-solving, and stress management skills. Here is the list of games which helps to infuse fun and creativity to build an organizational team:
1) Talking in circles:
This is a very fun and challenging game that requires a lot of communication between teammates and coordination. The members of the group are instructed to stand in a circle and form a circle around a long piece of string tied at the ends. Next, the team is asked to create shapes with the string, square, triangle, figure 8, rectangle, and many other shapes. The participants are told to be blindfolded and perform the exercise to raise the level of difficulty. Random team members were muted at various times to increase the difficulty of the mission while making contact more difficult. This activity tests the leadership and trust within a group.
2) Blind drawing:
It is an activity that promotes communication, especially listening blind-drawing is simple but efficient. The game requires 2 players to sit back to back where a picture of an object or word is given to one team member. The person must explain the picture without explaining directly what the thing is, without using terms that clearly gives the picture away. The final outcome is fun to see and depict whether 2 members can communicate, imagine, and innovate effectively within the company of each other.
3) Penny for your thoughts:
Team members tend to open up with each other and this hampers dynamic interaction. This includes the collection and tossing of coins in a jar with a specific year satisfied. The important thing to note here is that neither coin should be dated older than the youngest member of the team. Each group participant draws a coin and based on a year, in question, the individuals must share something memorable that happened to them that year. This offers fascinating insights into the teammates’ lives and will make future interactions stress free.
4) Hear me out:
Due to misinterpreted and incomplete listening, several issues occur within the team. Hear me out requires one of the team members to read out a statement clearly to the other participant. The text includes many thought-provoking but coherent terminology and phrases not relevant to it. The document is to be read out in a monotonous form without emphasizing the true sentences. The rest of the members are given a blank paper and asked to write down what they have heard or what the statement was about.
5) Earthball:
Goal setting is important for establishing highly functional teams. In this game, the members are instructed to hold a beach ball or balloon in the air without letting it touch the ground. No member is allowed to touch the ball twice in the same row. The group members are asked the number of hits they can manage before the start the activity. If the group is struggling provide them with an opportunity to review their strategy and develop a plan for the next attempt. The team with the highest number of attempts is the winner.
