We all love to take care of ourselves, whether it’s related to skin or hair, we want it to be therapeutic and when we talk about care Dove is the most prominent brand that comes to mind. Apart from that, the brand has always strived hard to break stereotypes from its marketing and work with more businesses run by women and under-represented groups.
Dove takes advertising real beauty more seriously than any other brand, and that makes them stand out the most. Not only that, the brand is backing a campaign to end the narrow definition of beauty consistently portrayed around the world and set a new standard for the authentic, diverse and inclusive representation of women. Dove Real Beauty Sketches | You’re more beautiful than you think
This campaign delivers a great message to love yourself. How we perceive ourselves and how others perceive ourselves is way different! And how insecurities can change our perspective about our bodies. It’s a 6 minutes campaign in which women describe themselves to FBI trained forensic artist Gil Zamora (from behind a mysterious curtain), who drew a portrait of them based on their description.
A random stranger was then asked to describe the same woman, to see how their description would vary. The result? Two completely different portraits. The one based on the stranger’s portrayal was more beautiful, happier, and more accurate. This helps inspire millions of women to love themselves.
Dove x CROWN Act
Crown (Creating a Respectful and Open Workspace for Natural Hair) Act campaign is honestly a mic drop! CROWN, Dove partnered with Crown Act is a big step towards promoting real beauty and ending hair discrimination in workplaces and public schools on a bigger platform. For decades, the brand has portrayed real beauty for all women and girls.

Not only the campaign, but Dove also released an official hair anthem “CROWN” featuring Kelly Rowland to support the campaign. Just give it a watch! If this doesn’t hype you up for loving your race, hair type, your self, I don’t know what will.

Last but not least, another campaign by Dove India #ShowUs is remarkable. The idea behind this campaign was to start showing women as they are, not as others believe they should be. 70% of women don’t relate to how they are represented in media & advertising. That’s why Dove, along with Girlgaze Photographers, Getty Images, and women worldwide, has created this project, and honestly, I am not getting over this.
From time to time, Dove has been creating content that relates and resonates with the humans and that is what type of content we all need that not only relates with the audience but also strikes hard to make a positive change in society.
